But now there is one more really cool app which makes the iPad more valueable. An app for transferring pictures from your camera directly to the iPad right away. Okay, actually it would be too much for me, right know. Because I’m not that professional (yet ). But still.. it is a nice tool for a lot of people out there… I will open my eyes for more useful apps and maybe one day…

No I will show you a video about the story of a company who is now making good money of it. A few years ago only a few people in Germany knew Threadless. So it was cool wearing some of it. The difference from this company to some others who are selling creative shirts: Users are voting and every week 10 new designs are going into press. To make it a bit cheaper: Just order at the season sales, get some friends together and make a bigger order, but be careful with the customs duty.
Because of the popularity some of my friends don’t like it anymore to buy shirts there. It’s no longer unique. But still: You can find at Threadless cool shirts and if you are in time you get them cheap.

But yea, just watch the video how this firm grew up and stuff. You will find some designs I have at:

In the end I don’t have a few hundret of shirts. Oh, that would be crazy! And I also think that threadless could make more out of it, if they print the designs also at v-shirts or other more girly-summer-shirts. That is one reason why I haven’t bought one for ages. But have a look on the designs which I got in my wardrobe. Maybe some are missing, or I know one of them. But it is at home in Germany so I can’t check the name or missing ones

And there I saw a post how the campaign performed, from the responsible agency. I’m really impressed now. It’s not like, that my blog has many views and this post we are talking about had, to be honest, no views But somehow they tracked my blog or just pushed an robot out there. I don’t know, do you?

Not only that they are trying to get a lot views for the campaign itself.  In the next step they’re trying to reach the people who were talking about the campaign directly, like me. In this way they make sure, that the brand name is a bit longer in our mind. Plus the agency gets a lot of credits. People outside of Ireland will know them from now on. Looks like a win-win business. Maybe only for a few more days or weeks until the hunter & bear passed out of our mind again.

One other thing: In my last semester I had a group work about a social media campaign of a video on demand company. During our creative phase we tought exactly about a way how we can use this style to make their youtube channel more popular. Sad, that we had not that much freedom for it – or was it just, that we didn’t really think about an idea?

Queen Victoria Market

Der Queen Victoria Market ist hier in Melbourne der größe Markt der fast täglich geöffnet hat. Es gibt hier allerlei. Von Kleidung, Souvenirs, Dekokram und sonstigem (un)nützlichen Dingen bis hin zu Obst, Gemüse, Fleisch, Fisch, Brot, Käse und sonstigem essbaren Leckereien.

Wenn man zur richtigen Zeit kommt, kann man die besten Stücke zu günstigen Preisen ergattern. Aber auch so sind z.B. Obst und Gemüse hier günstiger als im Supermarkt.

Immer wieder schön zu sehen ist, wie sich Leckereien aus Deutschland in Melbournes Regalen wiederfinden. Nicht nur, dass hier versucht wird leckeres Brot zu backen – was nur selten wirklich gelingt -, sondern auch Schwarzwälder Schinken oder die Schwarzwäler Kirsch Torte gibts im Angebot.

Tim Burton Exhibition

Seit längerer Zeit und noch bis ende Oktober weilt hier im ACMI die Tim Burton Ausstellung. Die lieben Swinmates haben auch hier wieder ein Special für uns arrangiert, in dem wir nur 10$ anstatt 19$ zahlen mussten. Ehrlich gesagt habe ich dafür eine Vorlesung ausfallen lassen. Aber wenn man schon die Wahl zwischen günstigerem Eintritt und Vorlesung hat.. was würdet ihr wählen? Keine Sorge, es war keine Vorlesung in der ich was verpasst hätte. Werde das ganz bestimmt auch nie wieder tun.

Das eigentlich interessante: Gezeigt wurden in der Ausstellungen etliche Skizzen, Aufschriebe, unveröffentlichte Projekte, Installationen, Figuren, kurze Ausschnitte aus den Filmszenen und in einer Sonderausstellung sogar große Polaroidfotos. Also alles in allem ein sehr guter und interessanter Einblick in die Entwicklung und Arbeitsweise von Tim Burton. Am Ende habe ich dann mal gezählt, wieviel seiner Arbeiten ich schon kenne. Immerhin sechs von vielen. Alice im Wunderland, Batman returns, Edward mit den Scherenhänden, Vincent, Charlie und die Schokoladenfabrik und Corpse Bride (Links gehen zu den Trailern oder Videos). Batman und Batman forver müsste ich ja eig. auch gesehen haben. Nur sind die nicht mehr wirklich in meinen Erinnerungen verankert. Vielleicht ist ja dann bald mal eine Batman Night angesagt? Die Originalversion von Charlie & die Schokoladenfabrik hab ich sogar auch gesehen, welche ich um einiges toller finde als die Burton Version. Wer sie nicht kennt, sollte das mal nachholen.

Extra stuff: Shopping Tour

hihi. okay. Das interessiert wahrscheinlich mehr die Damenwelt. Daher ganz kurz. Bei meiner gestrigen Shoppingtour hat uns Cassandra ein paar “Insiderläden” gezeigt. Einmal am anderen Ende der Flinders Street Station gibt’s ein paar nette Second Hand und Richtung Vintage-Style Läden. Mehr davon gibts im Stadtteil Fitzroy auf der Brunswick St. In einem der Nebenstraßen ist der “The Rose St. Artists’ Market”. Einem Markt mit ganz vielen tollen Sachen in Form von Schmunk, Möbel, Klamotten, Accessoires und anderen schicken Sachen. Wer die etwas ausgefallenere Lampe oder den trendigsten Ring möchte ist hier genau richtig.

Ganz großartige Dinge, die ich mir direkt zulegen würde, wenn ich das Geld hätte:

• ein kleiner Roborter an einer Halskette in dessen Bauch eine Uhr versteckt ist
• Notizblock dessen Cover aus einer Vinylplatte besteht
• Ringe in verschiedesten Formen
• Malereien auf Porzellan in Form von Halskettenanhänger oder Brosche
• vieles vieles mehr. Man muss es einfach gesehen haben.
