tick. tack. tick. tack.

Hello again. It finally arrived. My last night in Melbourne. As I mentioned in my last post I had bunch of stuff to do until Sunday. Mainly I have to find a car, which I did! I’m now a proud owner of a white Toyota Corolla from 1989. Here are some pics of the offering page from gumtree:

Doesn’t it look nice? At least, I think it is pretty awesome! Not only that it is white. Also cool blue light is shining inside the car every time I open the door. A disco ball is now hanging under the light for my own little party feeling. hehe
The car cost me 1.400 bugs, a bit for transferring the registration to my name and a bit more for a road side assistance. Who else can say “I bought my first car in OZ”? I can!

Puffing Billy & Dandenong Ranges

Some of my plans for my last week went real and some had to be canceled. Our little 1/2 day trip with Puffing Billy and afterwards to the Dandenong Ranges has got into a 9hr tour. The old steam loco drove us from the suburb Belgrave to Emerald, a little sweet village a bit outside of Melbourne. We discovered the landscape a bit by foot and arrived auf einmal at the next Puffing Billy Station Lakeside. Some of the old engineman said to us before, that the way from Lakeside to Emerald would take us ages. In the end it took us just 20 minutes.
However, the best part of the day was our excercise: climbing up the “1000 steps”. Actually we only climbed the half way up and in whole there are only around 800 steps. I felt already done after the first 400 steps. No wonder that everybody else weared sport cloths…

other stuff…

I don’t want to bore you, so I keep it short. My last couple of days I kept preparing myself and my new car for the following big trip through Australia. Met friends saying goodbye. Talked to students from my home uni about my study abroad and I hope I could convince some of them to come over. Having some good laughts at the comedy night at Comic’s Lounge. Trying to take some good shoots for my project for my home uni, but I’m not really satisfied with it. Hopefully I can make it nice in the postpro. Yea, that pretty was my week. Oh no. I forgot: I was at the St Rose Artist Market today and bought me a pretty gorgeous ring. I will upload a picture the next time…

bye bye Melbourne

Alright. Now I really have to say goodbye to you guys. I’m still not realising I won’t come back to Melbourne very soon. That I will sleep in my car for the next 3 months in nowhere.
I don’t know when I will have the time to write in my blog. If you are lucky I will say quick hello after my skype conference for my mid semester presentation for my profect at my home uni.
In the main time you can have a look at my travel plan at the google maps. Other travellers say: have a plan is a good one to throw right away. How far will I realise my plans? We will see…
